Blanche House was originally four farming cottages, converted into a family home by Christian's father, the author James Fleming (www.jamesfleming.co.uk) in 1980. When Christian and Jessica moved in in the summer of 2007 they made large changes to the house, exercising their skills in architecture and design. A series of walls were removed to abolish any sense of pokiness that many Cotswold houses have, and the old kitchen was stripped out and replaced by something more open and ergonomic. The house has a contemporary, open feel, but keeps its sense of origin within the Cotswolds.
